Meandering thoughts

I was out walking in the rain this afternoon. It was calm and not too cold and just light rain, after the sodden flooding downpour of yesterday when we trudged through a river (it was usually a path) uphill to get to the netball final. Which at least my school won *g*

But I digress. Out walking and thinking. About writing, which I cannot do at this time of the year as I am too busy at work. But I so want to. I'd love to wake up one day and be told I was really good at writing and could I just write some more *g*

I guess I just want the world to stop and let me catch my breath. Today I should have done a lot of schoolwork and I didn't do ANY. I hate having stuff to DO all the time. I hate schedules. Deadlines. Due dates. Timelines. I like to ...flow! I really need to be a freelance something.

Today also I was talking to my mother on the phone when her town got hit by a massive thunderstorm followed by a massive hailstorm. I stayed talking to her because she hates that stuff, and I could hear the thunder and then the hail on her roof. It sounded amazing. She screeched a couple of times!!! By the time we finished talking, the sun had come out. At her place. Still raining here! Our grounds are SODDEN.

Oh, I'm still reading The Shack and it's improving. Wow. Interesting concept. It makes you WANT to believe in God, I'll give you that. Not that I find that hard, but it's worth the refresher course, since I won't get it from the Codfish!

And on that note I shall go herd the rabbit into bed, call for that cheap harlot of a cat that likes to stay out all night marauding around the neighbourhood, feed the fish and then I shall go to bed, only to do it all again tomorrow. Tchau.

You might, once you've given your job a fair amount of time, need to consider doing what we call 'supply' teaching. It isn't quite as rewarding but you can usually earn at least a half salary and there is the knowledge that the schools who use you are desperate and really thankful when you arrive. Then you get about half your time free for yourself and your family... Or, look at job sharing or a half time post with your current school. You clearly aren't cut out for full time work - not that you can't do it but that the outcome frustrates you so dreadfully. And your writing is already good enough for your select band of fans to want more, so if you devoted more time to it you would, I'm sure, soon get wider approbation!

I can do relief (your 'supply' teaching). I did it before I took this job. In fact, I was doing it when I secured this job for ...a fortnight.

I would love to job share but I think my responsibilities are too great to not be there for it all, so it's probably an all or nothing job. If I weren't head of department, maybe I could though.

*g* select band of fans LOL!!! I like that!

I know how you feel about have so many things you have to do and it gets you down because it seems never ending. You do need to just stop somethimes and take a breath. Freelancing would be ideal - perhaps think about it?

By the way, you are really good at writing

Yes. I am afraid I'll just drop dead one day and miss out on all the writing I wanted to do!!

Aw, thank you *hugs* that gives me a boost of energy in the middle of report-writing week. Like, there are better things out there to do!!!
