Day Three of the October break

A lovely start to the day, wrote a poem-birthday card for my niece, pasted in a heap of photos of her with my children for memories, then made breakfast and finished my book, all before nine a.m. It was quite an exciting book. We've been reading all the Michael Connolly novels. I think I have an obsession with Harry Bosch. But this novel was about another character, however there are always subtle links to other books he's written, which is cool if you spot them. Like the guy in this book, his sister had been killed years before by the Dollmaker, a serial killer. Harry took out the Dollmaker in another novel.

Did more stuff around the house, then went into town to meet my brother for lunch. We had sushi, his shout, then I bought coffee in a place around the corner. He's just set up a Wellington office for his computer systems company. Quite exciting.

I bought a pattern to do some sewing (but I can't really sew much so that might be hilarious) and they had a two for one deal so I bought Christy a onesy pattern (pjs in a one piece, very popular here just now).

Took Finn to the dental hygienist. she was very nice but Finn was a wreck. I don't have anything calming like valium so I gave him a voltaren before we went! He made me hold his hand the whole time even though he's fifteen. Poor thing, his dental phobia is worse than mine, or he's just weaker!

Cooked chicken korma for dinner - so good, added yams and pumpkin for body and it was really nice even though Asher won't let me use 'the black seeds' that give it a really authentic taste!! OMG!

Just made a friendship bracelet while watching Wallander in Swedish with subtitles. Now that's multi-tasking, especially if you count the cat sleeping in my lap. I think I might be in love with Krister Henriksson... *shakes head in despair* LOL!

I've been reading your daily holiday activities with interest but haven't had a chance to comment until now. You seem to be having a really relaxing and interesting break:) Glad you're getting that chance and hope it continues.

Look forward to the next instalment.
