To write or not to write

I had a good day of teaching today. You want to hear the topics I'm teaching?
Year 9 - recognising signs of God
Year 10 - the teachings of Jesus
Year 11.1 - the Reformation and beyond
Year 11.2 - reverence for life
Year 12 - Biblical Studies I
Year 13 - Sects and cults
Senior Ethics - sexual and medical ethics

It means I need to do a lot of reading before I teach some of these! That can be hard but stimulating. So at least my brain is getting a good workout. The re-advertised position (my job) closes again on Monday. I wonder who will apply, if anyone. The staff seem to be getting the feeling I'm going to be around for a while. And I am starting to enjoy what I do with the girls, what a shame it might be to have to hand them on to someone else. Still, I don't want to think like that. I am not quite ready for full time mother and full time teacher and head of department all in one. And while I'm working so hard, how can I write? I just can't. So do I give that up? I guess I could. I started thinking that I could convince myself it's not the most important thing in the world, even though it is in my heart. I guess that's money talking though, maybe. And I'm surprised how easily I discarded that start of a Samfic. Poof! Gone! That's the computer for you, I guess.

I went out at lunchtime and supported the Poly club, they were practising their sasa. It's a kind of hello sitting-dance-clapping routine. Very complex and held to high standards of co-ordination! I found this competition one from another girls' college up north on you tube

Ours isn't that long or loud LOL! I promised to bring the girls some drumsticks, Christy's friend (a lot of her old school friends are at my college!) was using two long twigs! Apparently they keep losing the drumsticks so the teachers won't give them any more! I guess I can spare ours though. We don't use them. I didn't pursue Asher's drum lessons after that first term years ago... *g*

Don't you even think about giving up writing!

The classes sound like interesting topics. 11.2 sounds especially interesting!

Well, it's hard. I just can't write this week at all. *shrug* maybe next week.

Yeah, the 11.2 class is FANTASTIC. Only 13 girls, all doing an extra subject so bright and focused and *sigh* I only get them once a week at the moment. But great minds! We did personality groupings and they were into it LOL!

Well, maybe soon you'll have more time. Maybe things will calm down a bit, you're still getting used to all this extra work!

Sounds like a lot of fun! I'm glad that the girls seem to be getting as excited about these subjects as you are!

I was thrilled to be writing. But I guess I've lost it for now. Maybe it's just too much work too fast this past fortnight. And it means not publishing in the near future so *shrug* I'm just busy, I guess.

I like watching and listening to to the sasa, I've known some pacifica girls with amazing voices, and they have such an amazing sense of rhythm...

Of course you should keep writing..., you love doing it and that is reason enough, but you're good at it too, and we enjoy sharing what you write. The thing you're struggling with is getting the balance right, that's never easy, but you will get there.

The sasa, yeah, I was watching one girl and her movements were so casual and so fluid, it was amazing!

I want to write. The balance is NOT there!!! I guess I'll find it one day, huh.

Nothing personal. Just about me and my muse, or lack of therein. :)
