Crazes

Yellow car, a child shouts, and punches someone beside them.

How do these things happen? Finn's friends were doing this on the way to the pool, and I said, why on earth are you doing such a thing?
Don't worry, said Christy, everyone does it. Someone just shouts 'yellow car' and you get punched on the arm. People do it at school all the time.
That's crazy, I said, how did you all know about it at once? They all shrugged. Fads seem to pass from one person to another so fast. But there aren't many yellow cars, thank goodness.

It's so windy here. The Metservice weather page says 52 km/h winds but I swear it's a lot stronger. The wind is gusting hugely, you can barely stand up outside.

YELLOW CAR! OMG!

All of the cousins were totally playing that at the last family reunion like 3 years ago! It was awesome, man. Hee. Of course, we also made a CSI crimescene involving stuffed animals and duct tape and Oreo cookies, so... we're very creative. lol

LOL -- I think it's only the weirdos over here that do it. ;)

Dude, and on top of that? There was a public execution of the leader of the gang of stuffed animals for the murder of one of their own -- yeah, okay, you just gotta see the pic. That's all.

OMG!!! Poor little purple animal. Christy is saying 'oh no, poor little unicorn'. She added it's like that stupid song, 'Everyone's mean to the unicorns'. This is because in a fit of madness the other day I played her 'Alexander Beetle' and on the same tape lurked that song about how the unicorns failed to make it onto Noah's ark and that' why they are no more... but I digress... uh, thanks for sharing. The penguin looks suitably triumphant. *g*

LOL -- it's a talking pony. It is a possessed talking pony. The thing hasn't had batteries in it for 3 years but it still starts talking randomly. It's great for scaring the heck outta my dad, as it's in my old room at the house and it will randomly start talking as he walks by.

Wow! A possessed talking pony. We had a Furby like that. It was quite frightening. Those eyes would blink open and... argh!

Maybe something happened to its spirit when you tied it to the stake? Heh.

I didn't tie it to the stake! LOL It was possessed from the moment my Aunt Kathy bought it. hee

*snort*

On that note, I'm venturing out into the storm to buy Indian food items. Need anything? They have whole tubs of spices and pastes and sacks of every kind of rice and flour made from things you wouldn't think would make flour... and milk too, from things you wouldn't think would make milk...

Ohhhhh, I could stand some coconut milk, if they've got it... I wanna make some serious whipped cream. :D

Ben does that too! Yellow car (punch) no hit backs! Apparently if you shout no hit backs the other person can't retaliate. They do it with mini cars too. Mini dig and you get a dig in the rib. Games that kids play heh!

I hate that reputation, but it follows me wherever I go. I'm in Birmingham.

Huh. I've never heard of the yellow car phenomenon. I feel like I missed a vital experience now.

Ooh, wind. I have no idea what 5 km/h winds actually translate to in real feel, but I love wind.

Yep, looks like you missed out on something special LOL!

55km/h winds - I think that's about 33 mph... I love wind too but this one is just too strong, you wrestle with the car door, you grab all your clothing as you cross the playground, you watch things breaking all over the show!

I never bought into fads at school, mostly because I was way ahead of my time...

I'm so glad I found you!

OMG where have you BEEN! I missed you and I worried that you would never find me! But there you are, safe and sound. What a relief. Aren't you clever to have found me.

I hope you've updated... I'll go check my flist... but oh, I'm glad you're still there.
