My pc at work died today. Completely. Dead as a doornail.

Today, last period, I got some junior girls to turn on an oven in the cooking room, I got two more to mix flour and water, I got two to roll it out into a baking dish, I got two to take it to the cooking room and cook it, I taught about Passover and unleavened bread and then before the final bell, we ate the hot, flat bread *g*

Tomorrow, soccer prizegiving. Asher's team won their top level JPL grade, and Finn's team won their little C grade *g*

Darn, I have to go read Harry Potter...

Good for the boys!

What is this darn? Harry Potter is a good one!

Do you know yet if any of the files can be recovered on your work pc?

The 'darn' was because I was sitting here trying to see what everyone had been writing... which wasn't much, omg so many people are dropping out of LJ these days! And yeah, it was VERY exciting but I nearly cried reading about Dobby.

And as for the work pc, we don't know yet, we have to call someone in to look at it. Hopefully most of the stuff that's important is on the network, it'd only be things I've created lately in My Documents that might be lost, I guess.

Oh, well that's okay then. And I find myself updating less and less, because there's nothing to say! All I do is work! Though I suppose there's stuff I could write about that.

Oh yeah, so depressing.

Hopefully your pc can be saved!

Well, yeah, I mean, that's what I post about mostly, work and home... and that keeps me busy enough without posting about all the other things on my mind like peace and war and justice and books I am reading and stuff I've learned and things my friends do...

Heh, thanks. I don't care toooooooooo much, since I've not been working there as a permanent fixture. If I went back next year, then it'd probably be a disaster *g*

And I suspect a lot of the stuff is on the network. I guess it was just a shock really, to see it so dead. If it happened at home, well, a lot of work would be lost... hmmm, must do more backups!

If only to avoid somebody saying - when it crashes - "didn't you have it backed up?" :)

Yay for unleavened bread,it sounds as though you had fun... and I bet the girls will remember that!

Boo for computers that die unexpectedly... as you say at least it's not your home computer...

Hope you have a good weekend.

we had a surprising morning, no sport! Until prizegiving, and at last Finn and Asher had that at the same time. And Finn won 'most improved'!! Asher won another trophy for his team winning the top grade! So it was a successful session for us!

And yeah, rushed though it was, the girls won't forget unleavened bread in a hurry LOL! Wonder what the Korean girls thought! They have only minimal English *g*

Congratulations to to the boys, well done to both of them.

Food can cross language barriers like little else... though of course it can create some real cultural boundaries too! - I remember with fascination my many chats with my Muslim girls about food they did and didn't like, and their complete revulsion at the thought of eating pork and bacon - shows how much our feelings and tastes are formed by our upbringing...

That was a huge thing at Strathmore with all the Muslim children. Every food item you offered, they'd ask in a horror-filled voice if it had pig in it!
