Bring the band back...

Hi guys!! I am way behind, I've been at work all day then this evening I went to a party that started at seven. We didn't stay too long as the boys were home by themselves (Christy was babysitting for someone else going to the same party!). We came home at half past nine, made coffee, watched Big Love (OMG final ep next week, I can't believe all the things happening there) and I had put on my pyjama pants and picked up my book, ready for bed. Then the phone rang. The party was for my friend whose Irish family were all here to visit. She wanted to have a celebration to honour them before her brother and sister went back to their families. Her parents are staying longer.  Well, anyway, the phone rang at about quarter to eleven, and it was friends at the party pleading with me to come back and play the piano because no one was singing and the hostess was sad about that. So John, my fellow musician at Mass, came and fetched me in his car, picked up his guitar and for the next three hours we have played non-stop with people standing round the piano singing! It was quite amazing. We sang everything from Dirty Old Town to Brown Eyed Girl to You are my Sunshine, Wonderful Tonight, Simon and Garfunkel, Pogues, Beatles, Van Morrison, you name it we played it. Even Danny Boy. It was a lot of fun and odd to be the centre of attention. Now it's 2 in the morning and I am going to bed. So tomorrow I hope to catch up.  It's a holiday here tomorrow.  Waitangi. The 'celebration' of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, Te Tiriti o Waitangi. And it's Ash Wednesday. Will I get out of bed in time for ashes? Yikes. See you, dudes.

Kia ora!!! I would have loved you to be there. I could have used your singing and your clarinet! That would have been fine!!
Waitangi Day has been the most beautiful sunny day. We are very lucky. It's windy but it doesn't seem to matter too much. I wish I could send some sun.
