Paper clips...

I'm in. Moved classrooms today. First period, I got my Year 12s to help me move a big desk unit from the other block. Then fourth period I got my juniors to carry all the desks, chairs and books from my classroom. Fifth period my Ethics class watched the rest of the documentary, Paper Clips, while the 'blind man' fixed venetian blinds over all the windows. Zap, zap went the cordless drill while we tried not to weep over the fate of Jews in WWII and the horror of the boxcars that shipped them by the hundreds and thousands to the camps. I opened a packet of big paper clips and passed the box to the girl nearest me. I didn't have to say a word, they just silently passed the box around and took a paper clip each to wear. It was quite moving. I love that class.

Last period I used my other junior class to clear out my office and get the entire contents over to my new office. Three bright sparks even took the computer over, set it all up and turned it on, and made me a new desktop in the process! I stayed until five, trying to find places for things until some more shelving goes up. Now it's nearly midnight and it's time for bed. My friend is ill with strep throat so we took her boys to stay the night as well. Christy still has tonsilitis, and oooh oooh, our very good close friends have just bought a house up the road at 3 p.m. this afternoon *g* they used to rent the house nextdoor when they first came here and whee, now they're close again! I'm so pleased. We went with them to the Open Home last Sunday and it was LOVELY! I wanted to move there!

Okay. Bed time. You guys have a great day. I have a John Grisham to read. Although it's one of those ones without a central hero, and I don't like those so much. I like to get inside someone's skin and really feel the pain *g*

-I'm really glad you've made it into your new classroom, I do look forward to hearing and seeing what you and your classes get up to in there...
Really? Well, I'll be sure to keep posting *g*

Paper Clips is easy to watch. But heart-rending as well.
