Hello, my fairly silent buddies! How are things going? I've been really busy moving into my new classroom. The desks are all in but now I need to work on my office. The caretaker was putting up some shelves for me when I left this afternoon so that will help a lot with clearing the piles on the floor! I have a lot less space than I did before but it is MUCH more convenient for me, and it feels like a real home. I can teach, pop into my office for resources, send a girl in there to use the computer, anything. Then I have a big desk at the back of my classroom to spread my work out on. I have my own deck with the sun shining in.

Funny thing happened yesterday. Someone in Kilbirnie (the local shopping centre just down the hill from school) saw someone on our school roof so they phoned...us? No, the police! Next thing a police car arrives at school. Did we know there was a man on the roof? Uh, yeah, we asked him to get on the roof. He was fixing something.
As the policeman was leaving we passed in the rain, and I said we were just talking about the smacking Bill in my Ethics class so we had a quick chat in the playground. He had a lot to say about it all. I suggested he talk to my class some time, and said lightly, 'what are you doing at nine o'clock tomorrow morning?' and he said not much! And so sure enough, at ten to nine, there he was parked in the playground. He came in and we introduced ourselves, and it turns out I went to his wedding a million years ago, when he and Steve were in the same unit! I thought he'd looked familiar! Well, he had a really good discussion with my class, so that was great! My other classes were quite jealous that I'd had a policeman in! I'll have to organise more speakers, it's such an easy way to teach LOL!

And that's me for now. I have a lot of work to do. I scored swimming sports first aid duty on Friday, and from Monday I have to attend five Monday morning sessions on Maori Spirituality at the Mercy Centre on the other side of town (my boss signed me up!), so I need my classes to be shipshape in order to set work for them while I'm not there. Take care, team, see you later.

Oh Hannah, I guess you're at the hospital already. I will be thinking of you xx I hope they can sort things out as quickly and as painlessly as possible *hugs you*

Thanks. And will you stop having such gorgeous icons! OMG! You're stirring up the fangirl I buried deep inside *g*

It's good news: it turns out the kidney stone has vanished without my noticing it. Not entirely sure how that happened, but I'm very glad as it means I don't need surgery. Then again, it means the back pain I've been having for the last couple of weeks (and that I still have) can't be explained.

And, yeah, I'll stop having such gorgeous icons soon - my paid account runs out any day now and I can't afford to renew it, so I'll be back down to the basic handful of icons. I'll try to keep a WaT one in the selection especially for you, though :)

It's probably hiding around the corner ready to strike you when you least expect it. Drink a lot of cranberry juice, I think!

You might have had an infection. Or a kink in something. Or just pain from your teeth manifested itself there. When I had really bad tonisilitis one time, my back killed me. Take care, keep warm, and -I'll try to keep a WaT one in the selection especially for you, though :)
Aw, you don't have to do that *g* but thanks!
