Hi guys, the internet hasn't been working well here all week, and my brother just got things going again when he and his family came down to stay as well. Consequently things are really crowded here and rather loud but we're having a reasonable time. I went for a walk this afternoon between rain showers and found a skate park (for skateboards) - I tried to phone Finn back at the house but there was no signal! By jumping around the little lake and holding my phone high I managed to text Christy who sent Finn down to meet me by the creek. He had a ball, a skate park all to himself. He kept telling me how much he loved me!!
We made it safely the first night to Taupo with Asher's broken collarbone causing a bit of grief but he's very stoic. We had a great place to stay right on the lakefront with a thermal plunge pool outdoors and a huge round spa bath right in our room next to the bed! The next day we journeyed to Rotorua and spent the afternoon and evening with great friends there. We decided to just drive to Tauranga at half past midnight (my mother had put a key under the front door mat LOL!) and so we did. We didn't pass more than five cars in an hour of driving through the bush on a fairly main highway (I missed the Ngongotaha turnoff and we had to go through Te Puke.
We've been here ever since, not able to do a lot without leaving Asher out, which wouldn't have been fair. We've been very well behaved but I want to get home. I have so much to do. All I've done up here is write, when I could, and that's been great. My little story is developing some shape now, which is a relief. I'm only scared that back at school it'll all fall apart with the pressure of so much other stuff to do. Scared? I'm actually petrified. I so love to write and I'm not sure I like any of the other things.
And now I have to go! Everyone is pacing past the computer, despite this being the first time I have sat at it all week.
Dammit. I am going now.
And Hannah I am thinking of you.
