blue_leaf was asking for pictures... well, for a start, here's the bruise on my elbow (from the fall when the Year 9 girl ran into me in the gym)!

Pictures of the rest of me? Well... sometime...

Had a really busy day. We're looking at Jesus Camp (I talked about that last week, I think). Most of the girls are pretty horrified at what is going on there and how young the children are. And they're amazed at the open hostility towards Muslims, calling them the enemy and describing them as people who train children to be suicide bombers from an early age. I have a Muslim in my class who was amazed and pretty affronted. The rest of the girls hastened to reassure her that they didn't feel anything like that. I collected my tiles for the new bathroom. I got stone kind of looking tiles, in a creamy-tan colour for the walls of the shower and a darker greyish tone for the floor. It's awfully exciting to be doing this, changing from the white plastic shower to tiles. I can't wait.

Steve still away. He sat beside Temuera Morrison today for a meal!! None of us will ever forget Once Were Warriors. Or Dr Ropata LOL!

Ouch! That hurts :0(
The bruise and the Jesus camp type Christians.
It was attitudes like theirs that made me seek out other religions. I had a long journey and ended up back home in Christianity with Quakers. It took me a while to deal with the fundemental, strict and hate-filled tradition I was raised in. Thank God I have found Christians who are more Christ-like!

I'm not surprised. A girl in my class today said, 'how can they say the Muslims are their enemies when they are supposed to love one another?' It was a tough question to deal with. And the Muslim girl in the class was almost not going to watch at all! But we convinced her to stay.

I am glad you found the Quakers. It's great!

The funny thing is that when I learned about other religions and kept searching, I came right back around to Christianity, but saw it in a new light!
My experiences had enriched me and made me a better christian :0) All the while I thought I had given up on it, but I was being led all the same :0)

I find people's stories really interesting, like yours. Sometimes Christianity has a funny way of getting you really hooked LOL! Occasionally I've tried to ignore it or fight it (!) but there are times when it has real meaning that makes sense of so much chaos that I can't walk away - if you get my drift!

I have to be a powerful witness quite often at school. And I don't mind most of the time. I guess it's why I'm there.
