Friday stuff...

Yep, just Friday stuff - no depth here either, greenpizzazz6!!!

After Flippaball we decided to stop off at Miramar Central School for their ethnic food fair to pick up some dinner. Finn and Christy chose Chinese noodles (Asher was at a party), I bought Cambodian spring rolls for everyone and I bought souvlaki in pita bread for Steve and me. Nice. Very nice. I would've bought pancakes too but they ran out just as we got there - maybe I'll make us pancakes tomorrow night *g* C'mon over. I can make plenty!

I had a good day, made some appointments, had a friend over for coffee, sorted music for a funeral on Monday, did the laundry, weeded quite a few plants, and I moved a small Mexican orange blossom that looks like it's got a disease. I repotted it and put it on the porch but I am pretty sure it's dying. Poor little tree. My Rob Lowe hebe isn't doing a lot better with the shift to the front garden but it's hanging in there... fingers crossed.

I was going to write this evening but my young friend from my school phoned and wanted to talk about things. She's still a first year teacher, and doing a wonderful job in really difficult circumstances. She talked for ninety minutes!! I'm so glad I'm not there at the school. We watched 'Teachers' tonight on MGM, with Nick Nolte, Ralph Macchio, Laura Dern, Judd Hirsch, and a very young Morgan Freeman!! Nick was trying not to run out on the job. I said to Steve, "I ran out on the job." He said, "If you'd stayed, you would have gone mental!" Heh. It was an interesting, dated, well acted movie about a struggling high school. Hmmm, American high schools always seem to be so scary in movies. Are they really scary or is it just a good vehicle for drama? I was in a high school last week, teaching, and I was never scared once *g* oh except when I looked in the fridge, to get the milk, and the whole fridge was FULL! OMG the entire staff seem to bring lunch boxes filled with salads and healthy stuff. Amazing!! Few teachers did that fifteen years ago, when I was last fully employed in a secondary school.

And it's Friday. I have a meeting tomorrow morning, 10-12, then we might look at the new Borders bookshop that just opened on Lambton Quay. I have an old Borders shirt my friend sent me from Rochester, NY, years ago. She was there doing her PhD. She saw groundhogs too *g*
Anyway, roll on the weekend. Let's hope it's a productive one, huh.
