TYFS

My brother in law came to dinner which means he brings a sample of his vast DVD collection with him. So, I finally saw Thank you for Smoking tonight. I'd avoided it for ages, after reading about all the build up on Rob Daily way back then, even Christy went to see it at the theatre (she wanted to see Seth, aka Adam Brody, of course *g*). It was good too, some great lines and good laughs. Then we watched some less pleasant Bruce Willis cop thing set in New York.

The children watched Charlotte's Web, and then the boys watched Snakes in Planes. Asher said it wasn't that great, and I said what can you expect from a movie called Snakes in Planes. Steve and I watched the last bit with them. I liked it when they shot out the windows and all the snakes came flying out! Snakes had been everywhere, apparently. Not really my kind of movie though.

Tomorrow we have planned an Easter get together at Seatoun Park, or beach if there is soccer at the park, with the families that did the river floating at Papawai a few weeks back (remember that pic?) and we'll have a barbecue at lunchtime and some old-fashioned games like three legged races, tug of war, egg and spoon races, that sort of thing, and we'll have a soccer game too. My friend Kate and I planned it, and we are calling it the unofficial parish picnic, because we just invited whoever we wanted to *g*

The day after that, we're OFF up country. Must pack sleeping bag, camera ...and gumboots if I can find them.
gumboots = wellington boots = top boots = rubber boots
I wish I had a pair like this... mine are dark blue, of course, but they are all spidery (as in full of spider webs)

I still haven't seen Thank You for Smoking, but I definitely plan to.

Snakes on a Plane I have not heard good reviews of. It wouldn't be my kind of movie either.

The parish picnic sounds wonderful! I'd love to go on a picnic, but there's still snow on the ground!

I was surprised what a teensy bit of Rob Lowe there was. I was expecting something more astounding. But he was okay. It really was a good movie in many ways.

Snow? OMG! It must still be cold there. It's still really warm here, we have all the doors in the house open this morning.

I've heard it was pretty funny. I just haven't had a chance to find out for myself yet!

It's soooo cold. We're around 20 degrees below our normal temp. for this time of year! Last week, it was at 70, but within two days it had dropped to 20! It's awful!
But it shall be warm again soon enough.

Yeah, it's mighty cold for Spring! I avoid going outside as much as possible.
