I'm very tired. I'm thinking I might need another iron test, to see if that's the problem, but I don't want to do that at the doctor's. Beth, the nurse, just can't find my veins these days, maybe she's getting too old and my veins are small, I dunno. That last time, where she missed my veins on both arms after several tries before deciding to send me to the lab... *shudder* I was a wreck by the time I reached the lab! Don't like that whole human pincushion image... I'll think about it.
My Year 9s made Tibetan style prayer flags today on coloured paper which we have hung across the classroom roof beams. They say encouraging things like, 'Don't give up', 'honesty is the best policy', 'Welcome', 'Nau mai, haere mai' (another welcome), 'Have a great day' and other cliches we thought might perk people up in their journeys in my classroom! I Googled all about the prayer flags last night and made a page of pictures and info to pass around the room first. It helped the non-English speaking children to get the idea of what we were going to do. All my students say they are enjoying the colourful atmosphere in the room now, with work from different classes everywhere. I'm pleased too. It's brighter and more like a working room, with rows of desks, than an office for Caritas with a few desks thrown in conference style, which was how I found it. Hey, maybe I could take some photos for you!
I also found I definitely have to go to a conference for two days early next week, and you know, I really think it'd be easier to stay at school than have all the commotion of going away and setting lessons, and coming back to the chaos that seems to ensue! But I still have to go, as Head of Department. I guess it'll be an adventure, even if it is Palmerston North LOL! Me, alone in my car for a couple of hours each way... good writing time in my head! Now that has to be a bonus, huh. I hope no one wants to carpool! I'm the only one going from my school.
So that's me. As
Andrea, I owe you an email, too! I'll get there, I promise... thinking of you xx.
So, g'night, guys, have a great, wonderful, adventurous and fun filled day. Or just a good one. Heh.

Ouch! Poor you!!
-finding hiding ,frightened veins than others.
Hee! You got that just right!! I am sure the veins see the needle coming and just tactfully withdraw LOL!
Sky stole Lost. We don't have Sky and nor does Fledge. I refuse to be blackmailed into paying for Sky in order to watch Lost and another couple of programmes, so they will have to remain Lost!!
I realised after I wrote this that Steve took the camera to France. But I sure will.
They are weird colours, because that is all there was in the department! We made more today with my fifth form, because they wanted to do it too!! The third form ones look better, but the older girls' ones have better messages!
