The passing of a guinea...

Our beloved Cocoa died today. I am so sad. We tried really hard to save him but he just couldn't breathe this morning. He was such a cute guinea pig, I really miss him heaps. It was so hard taking him to the vet, I didn't want to, I wanted us to just keep him until he died, but Christy didn't want to see him struggling so hard to breathe. And he really was struggling. Finn came to the vet's, too, and he's very sad without really understanding what he's going through. Cocoa was a lively and loving guinea who always cuddled up under your chin, and I guess we're lucky to have had him with us for the last two and a half years. Here's one of Finn's guinea pics from that time, the Night Guinea,

Aw, thanks, it seems silly to be so sad over a guinea, but he was my favourite. And Finn's too. I guess we'll need to get something else to go into that flash cage we just bought him. Maybe a rabbit!

A rabbit sounds good!

I don't think it's silly at all!! Losing a pet can be rough!

Thanks. Losing our dog was one of the hardest things I ever did. Finn was just a baby, one year old, so we had three children but the dog made it four, and I felt like we'd lost our first child. I couldn't talk about him for weeks without feeling terrible! He was the liveliest dog and he totally controlled our lives back then!!!
Here he is sharing Christy's nappy changing time (he was into EVERYTHING!!!)!
