There was no way I could have posted the last couple of nights, I didn't even turn on the computer yesterday, it's been Parent Interviews for four hours straight each night from four until eight (although we get a break for dinner for about twenty minutes!!) and it was really tiring. I enjoyed meeting such a heap of people, though, and found I knew quite a few of the parents already from things way back, like one had been at Christy's ballet years ago, one was the mother of Finn's friend at Preschool, another had been a girl I went to college with, another my old English teacher's daughter... it's a small world. I also had interviews with about six parents I knew really well from my parish, and one from the Board of Trustees of my last job! That was all quite surreal.

And I have to admit it, although I stopped saying it a while back because it was getting repetitive, I'm so utterly exhausted I can hardly sit up straight. I bought pizza for dinner (served at the Pizza shop by two seniors from school!! OMG!) and I couldn't even write, I'm so shattered. It's been a really hard ten weeks, and you guys here on my journey probably know more than anyone how hard it's been for me. But it has also been immensely rewarding. I am suddenly part of a huge culture of teenage girls, caught up in their struggles, their victories, their hopes and dreams and teenage disasters, and it's been amazing. I have been blessed to have been thrust into such an amazing job that suits me so incredibly well, just when I was settling down to be a writer of sorts. I am very busy but challenged constantly, and I am working with a wonderful group of professional colleagues as well. How fortunate I am!

And during the week, I received the most amazing book from greenpizzazz6 and it has been the centre of attention of all Christy's friends!! 'It's mine!' I wail at her! 'Give it back!' She has marked all the pages she likes with slips of paper. It's a great book. I am so lucky *hugs Cari* (to whom I haven't even written an email to say thanks properly yet! I will, I promise! Tomorrow!)

Netball and soccer in the morning, then I might think about relaxing and embarking on a two week winter break from teaching. I shall still have to do a LOT of planning but that's actually fun without the pressure of classes the next morning.
It's very cold here so we don't have any great plans at the moment. We have the new bunny rabbit to play with anyway, as well as Caramello and the cat. The rabbit is incredible, he runs and bounces and leaps about at a great pace! Little Jack's just fascinating. Jack the Rabbit. Jack Rabbit. Jack Cocoa Rabbit. Jack Black, for he is indeed black. And very cute!

Have a lovely break, however you use it! This time, you'll be looking forward to going back!

Thank you!

How we use it is definitely a mystery at this point, but I'll be open to suggestions from all family members. It's wet and rather chilly, so that limits us a little bit. At least all the sport was cancelled this morning. I had to get up to listen to the cancellations, but we didn't have to go anywhere.

And yeah, going back to work sounds better than it has in a while, even if it's hard work. It's good work *g*

Sounds like the parent nights were very tiring! But it sounds like you had a good time too, so that's good.

You're very welcome for the book! I'm glad you like it so much, it's a wonderful book!!

Enjoy the beginning of break!

Yeah, it was really rewarding, because the parents had nice things to say about me on the whole, too, so that was nice.

-it's a wonderful book!!
It is indeed!

It's lovely to hear you sounding so happy in your work, especially after all the pain of last year. Just make sure you look after yourself and find some time to rest over the next two weeks... time to read, time to write, time with family and most importantly time just to be...time just for you. Have fun!!

Thank you! It sure is nice to be so proud of the school, instead of cringing when I mention the name of the place where I work! And yeah, if I'm not happy in this place, well, I think I could only blame myself, since I'm practically a one-woman department LOL!

Still, every job seems wonderful for the first four-six months, then the odd crack appears! So I'll just bask in this temporary glow and hope it lasts as long as possible!

And I'll have no trouble having fun over the break, that's for sure!
