There are icebergs floating towards us, huge ones, although they are supposed to melt before they reach Dunedin ;) One enterprising man is flying people out there in a helicopter so they can trudge around a bit - sounds exciting but dangerous! And another enterprising person tried to sell one of the icebergs on TradeMe yesterday - the bidding was up to $99 million before the auction site decided they had to have a proof of ownership of the iceberg *g*

The scientists say it isn't because of global warming, that it's just a coincidence but you know what? I really don't believe them. Thousands of icebergs suddenly heading this way? Uh-uh! I don't think so.

I hope they do melt!

It's interesting how people try to gain money from things like this. Very creative though!

Once on eBay, my boss found someone selling their invisible friend. It was a big jar with a name taped on it. And someone actually bought it!

Yeah, it'll be funny if they just keep coming until they hit us.

Invisible friend...how sweet.People do buy odd things in ebay.We had one who was selling empty packaging from things he had bought. He was quite straight and honest about it all,but I was amazed at the number of bidders he had . They went fr a silly amount of money too.
Maybe it is the road to riches LOL

Hee. I guess that could be considered recycling! I am indeed surprised what comes up for sale though. The guy who founded TradeMe here, Sam Morgan, sold it not so long ago for $NZ 700 million! I brushed past him a while back at a function... that's the closest I'll get to his money!

I've sold and bought packaging before. Sold my "Siemens SL45 Original Box" for some $45 - included a bonus battery tho ;) and before I bought my iMac G5 I bought a Box.. to build the dream. Poor seller tho didn't realise it costs about $10 to ship the box, and I only paid $7 or something, postage included.

And OMG you went to Rongotai!! I taught there. But a few years before you got there! '86 and '87. Small world, huh.
