Jul. 28th, 2007

There are many thoughts going through my head tonight. You want to hear the list? Nah, I guess not. But some of them are interesting.
We went to Aurelia's Oratorio http://www.eventfinder.co.nz/2007/jul/wellington/aurelias-oratorio.html
tonight, well, Christy, Finn and I went. It was brilliant, too. I booked the tickets this afternoon, and they were emailed to us before we'd even finished the booking conversation! Fantastic show. And to my surprise, my old flatmate's mother was working the info/coat check desk! She's worked at the Opera House forever, and now she's at the St James. She looks great, and told me she'd nearly eighty! I couldn't believe it! Her husband was an actor (he was in Glide Time amongst other things), and he left her when she had six small children. She has always struggled, but couldn't stay away from the theatre. In fact, my flatmate, Kendra, was the only member of the family who didn't go into that field of work - she worked at MedLab. It was great to see Vi again.

We were a little spooked getting back to the car later, but it was a great night out.

Other thoughts? Christy stupidly thought she could hold the rabbit when we saw a friend off. He leapt. I had to catch him under the car. Christy is mortified, and remembering the time years ago when she caught one of our Black Moors in the tank vacuum cleaner and I had to save that too!
And I also wonder why some people can't stop taking a dig, no matter how hard you've tried to stay off their radar. Another thought? I want to be on the other side of the world, just occasionally, for a coffee. Another? I would like more time in the weekend. The children all had a successful morning at sport, but that was the morning (just got to the netball courts and Asher texts me, 'Finn thinks his soccer boots are in your car'). Tomorrow? Mass. Don't wanna go. Schoolwork? I'm buried under it at the moment, which is why I haven't been back here really. I can't face it, I'm rather snowed under with housework and children and school work and marking and administration things, and bills to ensure are paid, and fixing cars - I had my 4WD repaired and now it won't idle properly. I'll have to go back. Any other thoughts? I want to write, maybe just because it would mean I'm not doing any of the other things listed above! And my friend is off to Surfers' next week, and I'm wishing that was me. And it's not like I'm really dissatisfied, just busy and, if I'm honest, rather stressed quietly inside. There's so much to learn and take on board at school every day. And... *shrug* well, I think I'd better get some reading in bed done now. I've just been researching art in the early Christian catacombs! And I stopped to watch a You Tube interview with my beloved Clive Anderson and the Bee Gees. The BGs got up and walked out!!! It was great! I loved it! It's here.
Oh, and remember when I got those Brokeback Mountain posters? Hang on, no you won't! But they were great. Steve called in favour for those, for two of my friends back then, and this week he did it again, for me this time, a huge James Bond Casino Royale poster *g*

And that's me for now. Fear not, I'll get back into it.

Oh yeah. Or at least different time.

I'll see you when you dig out of that school work!

I feel like that's never! But if I stick at the job, it just gets easier...

I'd like you to be on THIS side of the world *g*

I hope you've managed to get done the "had to do" things this weekend, and managed to find time to do a bit of something that you enjoy too... I think there is little worse than feeling trapped in the rut of daily activities with no end in sight...

We wish you could join us for coffee sometimes too... but we'll just have to make do with virtual coffee and real chats for now!!

Hope you've managed to get on top of all the school stuff you had to do this weekend, some of it sounds really interesting, but nothing is so interesting when you've got deadlines and time pressure.

I did NOT get much done this weekend. Well, I got all the laundry sorted and washed, a veritable mountain of it. I cleaned the kitchen, well, parts of it. I got everyone to sport on time in their uniforms. I am just doing a white wash. I had the power point ready for Mass and I took children's liturgy. But schoolwork, bills, that stuff, still not done and it's nearly nine pm on Sunday night! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

never mind, I'm pretending it's all fine and I'm contented just now... with coffee...
