Well. Every night I have visions of what I'll get done and I never get even close! Still, tonight was interesting. I had to go back to school at half past seven and I was first speaker of a panel of three addressing the PTA and parents of the college who wanted to come (not that many, thank goodness) and we spoke about loss and grief and handling teenagers. It was pretty good, the people all seemed to like what we had to say. It was a useful night. But I really needed to be doing dishes, marking tests, that sort of thing! OMG! I just feel, well, *shrug* can't do everything, huh!

It was weird, when I left school at half past nine tonight, I drove down to take the main road past the Kilbirnie shops. A car in front of me stopped because the whole street was lined with cars with their hazard lights flashing. There were at least fourteen cars. They were all double-parked, all with people sitting in them, lights off but hazard lights flashing, it was really odd. The car in front of me didn't move so I tooted. It crept forward, then stopped, so I tooted again, I wanted to get out of there, it looked like trouble! Finally after a couple more false starts, the car in front of me moved forward gingerly between the line-up of cars with me hot on its tail for protection, and we both made it through to the next intersection where we ended up side by side. The other driver was a young woman with her migrant mother from the looks of it in the passenger seat. She smiled at me. We both wound down our windows and I said, 'what the hell was that back there?' and she said she had no idea but she was really scared! We have no idea whether it was a gang of thugs waiting for someone or what. Looked like Samoans, but I really have no idea...
