Sunday travels

The children and I skipped Mass today and drove over the Rimutakas (the huge hill (more like mountains to some of you) range at the end of the Hutt Valley) to Carterton at eight this morning, where Asher had two rep-build up soccer games. It was a beautiful day there in a country town (village?) and turned out to be market day. I entertained Christy and Finn while Asher played his games. Christy bought me a badge the same as this icon. (Probably not the best badge for someone with my job to wear but what the hell, it's great music)
We drove back mid afternoon, but boy it's tiring, that drive. Beautiful but tiring! And Finn decided the fences were not strong enough to stop the car going over the edge. (it is a very steep windy road clinging to the side of the bush clad hill)
'How far down is it?'
'Maybe half the height, about 500 m.'
'Would we die?'
'Maybe. Or we might get stuck in the bush.'
'I don't want to go over.'
'Well,' I said, 'I'm going to drive as carefully as I can.'
'Could you just drive a little slower? ...no, really, slower. I mean it... NOW!'

And tonight we entertained the brother in law and he brought Hot Fuzz and OMG it's glorious! What a great movie. It has some gross moments, but it really is very funny!! Worthwhile for sure, especially if you ever watched Sean of the Dead... same guy.

And wow, don't tell me it's another week tomorrow. I can't believe it. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

-'ve always been fascinated by different writing styles and used to do the exercises I set for the kids - partly to 'model' for them, but partly for fun!
Ooh, yeah, it makes me wish I was teaching English again.

-Spooks/Harry Potter slash crossover set in Regency London as an AU, in case you wondered
OMG um....well... how interesting! *g*
