Shut out the world...

Today I decided to put the world off for one more day (it's still holidays here). I sorted Lego instead. I started last night, and I've built a couple of things, and gotten the boys active in sorting and purging - it's amazing what else you find mixed up with the Lego, crayons, marbles, dust, peace keepers' guns, pencils, that sort of thing. So now it's mostly sorted again, and hopefully we'll make up a few sets and keep them on display for a few weeks. They do get dusty though. I'm making an Orient Express display in the hall *g* Indiana Jones sort of stuff.

Christy stayed the night at a friend's house, so it was quiet here. Unfortunately in the excitement of the rugby league final I forgot to go up to the bedroom and watch Charlotte's programme. I hope Andrea (her mum) taped it. Charlotte is a talented writer who has had some plays produced and has published some stuff too. She's amazing. So I didn't read to the boys either. We are up to the very last bit of Harry Potter. At last. Whee! I never heard the final word on whether he lives or dies... tonight!!! Christy declined to listen this time round. She's having a Cornelia Funke revival so that means we lugged Harry Potter and Inkheart up north, two heavy books!! I'm glad books are still cool though.

We might finally buy an Apple Mac tomorrow... I think I know what we need in terms of specifications and stuff. Just want to get the best price now. And of course, they have their latest ones out now. Hopefully better and cheaper! Apple computers? Not my cup of tea but they sure are clever. I may be a convert eventually.

For now, I am starting to think about all the work I have to do. I might start it soon... bleagh! Marking, planning, HOD stuff, tidying my office, mail, our local parish Confirmation in a fortnight... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! I wish I could be like greenpizzazz6 and get it all done...

Hey, if it's any comfort to you, that was more of a one day thing. I didn't finish all the cleaning I wanted to do today, or some of the other stuff. Guess I'll just have to find time during the week!

Hooray! Can't wait to hear what you think.

And I used to love building with Lego too!

I've sorted stuff into piles, paid the clarinet teacher by internet banking, addressed the postcards I wrote in Tauranga (but had forgotten address book in the rush to leave), paid the Sisters of Mercy fund, put a load of washing on and planned dinner (my friend Nida rang and I got her to give me her best Filipino/Hong Kong spring roll recipe - my children always say, yours are nice, Mum, but we like Nida's best *g*) and I've tidied some more Lego...
So I'm getting there...

And Harry Potter has been brilliant so far, challenging, and demanding as one should expect as the readers ought to have grown older along with Harry, huh. Very clever. I am in awe!

Not all I hoped but I actually feel this evening I'm getting on top of things. Purchased (by phone) a new computer for Finn today, an iMac! It pays off to do lots of research on the net. We might even get it tomorrow! I found a really nice place that does more service than sales so that sounded promising for budding Mac people like us.

But we've been busy every night so haven't gotten back to that last bit of Harry Potter yet.

On Thursday, Viv and I were chatting about de-cluttering, and were just saying that lego lasts forever and amuses all ages...

I could play with it all day every day! Probably more than the children. When he gets into it, Finn loves to create things from his imagination. Which is messy but good.

Harry Potter and Lego sound great to me!! - why did my children have to grow up?? Enjoy the peace whilst it lasts, before the world comes crowding in again...

Is the Apple Mac for Finn? I would love to try a Mac, but I'm not quite prepared to give up my pc....

Yes, it's for Finn. And I find Macs challenging. You can't right click, and I'm always looking for how to do things and functionsn and stuff and not finding the answers. But Finn is pretty good with them already. And his godfather is a Mac freak so he'll help us out!

Yeah, I'm picking that starts tomorrow...
