This afternoon three of us took a swag of children (let me think, nine) and two dogs over to the coast at Breaker Bay to explore the rock pools, then we all walked up to the hill above Fort Dorset and sat in the sun at the top of the world while the children played tag... then it suddenly rained. Then it poured. We all got wet! I took some photos before the rain, blue sky and all, I'll post them later. It's four minutes to midnight now and I need to run to bed. Steve's squash guys came here tonight and watched True Romance. Great movie if you love rampaging violence and multiple killings! And we watched a really good French movie yesterday, Cache, and it was great right up to the end, when it just finished abruptly, apparently to leave it ambiguous. We were left frowing, saying, 'What the hell?' but it was a good movie, with a stunningly horrific suicide scene near the end that made me yell aloud in surprise. The French was much easier to understand than some movies we see. Not that I really understand it properly *g* je ne parle pas le francais really mais je can sometimes read it *g*
We just finished Harry Potter tonight (apart from the epilogue) and I was so surprised with the result, it was good, clever and challenging. It was better than I had hoped for, and I am in awe of JK Rowling as an author. I'd never be able to be as clever a writer. Then again, I don't write fantasy either. It's a whole different approach to problem solving, huh *g* But oh, we loved Harry Potter, all seven books have been read aloud by me and they have all worked wonders on the children. I had to stop the tears from falling in the final scenes. I know my voice was wracked with emotion.
And so, that's us for the night. Bon nuit... ?! Bonne nuit? *shrug* je ne sais plus.
