Hey, hey, it's me again. Today I had a great liturgy with my junior class. They were amazing. We read readings from the bible, we read a NZ psalm by Joy Cowley (they got the giggles over the phrase, 'Go the whole hog'!!), two girls strummed on school guitars and we sang three songs together, even an action one by Andrew Chinn! I read them a reflection about how to receive compliments and how dazzling they all were, and at the end one of the girls asked if she could pay a compliment right away! I said sure, and she said, "Well, I've been away all week in Auckland and I didn't know you were planning this, and I just want to say it has been awesome!" It was really good and moments like that lesson make teaching really worthwhile and rewarding. They would have sat in a circle on the floor for about forty minutes, lights out, blinds down, candles lit, and not one person did anything wrong. I love that class! And luckily, for now, they love me *g*

So. Swings and roundabouts. Teaching is like that. Hey, life is like that, huh.

And I'm back to writing in my head and it feels good. Nick is back in the thick of things and the plot is developing, sloooooooooowly... OMG so slowly! But I'll get there.

Absolutely, but it is so important to treasure the good moments! - and that sounds like such a rewarding class for everybody.

Glad that your writing is springing to life again...

Thanks, and thanks. It was just so nice to think we had a whole class where I never had to even think about anyone doing anything wrong! And they were all so damned cheerful about it all! Amazing. I wish I could do the same with my Year 10s. But that Fourth Form year is a real mess most times. It's hard to find a good balance between work and play with them.

Nice way to put it! It just feels good to be putting pen to paper, working with words, trying to convey the pictures in my head in the best language I can think of. I just love doing that.

I know I'm going to sound like a heathen idiot, but I've read enough of your posts to finally ask - what exactly is a liturgy??? :-)

I realise I could do a google search but, meh, figured I'd take the easy way out and just ask you to explain it!!

Never feel funny about asking!

For us at school, a liturgy is like a little service, a prayerful service, with candles and readings and reflections or meditations, but it's not a Mass where we'd have all the rituals and celebrate the Eucharist (if that doesn't sound too technical!!!)

- and we'd need a man for Mass. Frankly, I'm happy to do without that most days *g*
